Lowpro Lounge track licensed by CBS for CSI: New York | Air date 4/12/06
Last October Lowpro Lounge released an edgy remix of STS9's "Peoples" on Sound Tribe's Artifact: Perspectives album that has garnered praise from musicians and fans alike. The remix was produced by J.Tonal and James Christopher, engineered by B. Smiley, and features lyrics by ill45, vocals by Audio Angel, scratching by Citizen Ten, and additional production by Billy Mitsakos.
The track just got licensed by CBS and will run on one of their flagship shows, CSI: New York. The CSI series of shows are some of the most watched television serials of this decade. CSI: New York was up for Best New Drama at the 31st People's Choice Awards, nominated for for an ASC Award by the Am erican Society of Cinematographers, and is holding down it's time slot with an average 14 million viewers per night. The episode with the "Peoples" remix will air on CBS, Wednesday April 12th at 10pm. http://www.cbs.com/primetime/csi_ny/
Lowpro Lounge presents: The Most Hi-Fi
A continuous-play DJ mix compiled completely from unreleased music.
Bumpin tracks by some of SF's best underground producers. Featuring Hunter Brown, Dave Murphy and Dave Phipps (of STS9); Mal (Compression); J.Tonal, Jarvez, Twittering Machine, Parc Ranger, and more. Cutting edge drum n bass, hip-hop, IDM, breaks, and downtempo blend in this 21-track, 70-minute musical experience. Click here for more details.

J.Tonal - SF producer who co-founded the Lowpro Lounge. In additional to playing DJ sets and live PA, he organizes electronic-acoustic fusion bands which feature both electronic elements and live instrumentation. He has fused DJs, live production, and samplers with flutes, bass, sitars, guitars, and drummers. http://jtonal.com
James Christopher - Founding member of Roots Science live jungle band, cofounder of Lowpro Lounge, remix artist, and dnb master dropping ill sets and mind-bending mixes. His performances often feature unreleased tracks from some of SF's best producers, as well as elements from old skool jungle and uk garage. http://lowprolounge.com/jameschris
Citizen Ten - Citizen Ten is a rare breed. Working as a DJ-producer, his style of hard downtempo music is some of the illest we've heard. He spins rare groove mixes, classic breaks sets, and hiphop. Also know as the galactic hiphop producer Mr. Smith, his beats are loved throughout the solar system. http://lowprolounge.com/citizenten
Majitope - Majitope is an elemental combination of majical isotopes. Master of his uniquely cultivated brand of GardenHouse, he conjures elements of Dub, Tech, Bass, Funk, Minimal, and House. Known as the premier Sunrise Specialist, he has purveyed historical sets from Xingolati, Symbiosis, Burning Man, Hawaii , and everywhere on the west coast & San Francisco. For over 14 years, he has honored the art of leaving the crossfader in the middle, to let the majik of two records, together, tell their own story.
BLVD - BLVD is a live breaks band featuring drums, guitar, bass, plus an electronic element. Drummer/producer Dylan Macintosh and guitarist Curtis Sloan hold down this very jamming three piece excursion into eletronic/acoustic fusion. The only band to hold down a residency at John Lee Hooker's Boom Boom Room, they are a true SF funk secret.
Billy Mitsakos - Man of many aliases, this DJ, engineer, and producer kills it on all fronts. Best know for his banging beat-production as one half of the duo Spaceheater, he also DJs crunk hip-hop under the name Brizzlescratch. Be on the look-out for his upcoming superhero solo project Math-Blaster, crushing algorithms on an ipod near you.
